Have you heard the saying: “Tell me who you walk with, and I will tell you who you are?”

friendshipprayerlovedevotional

“Bad company corrupts good morals.”

💛 What does this mean?

This verse teaches us that the people we spend time with influence the way we think and act.

If we are close to friends who do what is right, who speak with love, and who seek God, we also grow in goodness.

But if we hang out with people who do wrong things, they can lead us away from what God wants for our lives.

🤔 Let's think for a moment

Have you ever found yourself imitating someone without realizing it?

Sometimes we do things just because others do them.

That’s why God warns us:

Choose your friends wisely, because they can help you… or cause you to stumble.

God wants you to have friends who encourage you, respect you, and bring you closer to Him.

🌈 What can we do today?

Think about your friends and ask yourself: Do they help me become better?

Surround yourself with people who speak with love, who encourage, and who do what is right.

Be a good friend too: kind, honest, respectful, and full of Jesus’ love.

If you have a friend who is doing wrong, ask God for wisdom to influence them for good.

🧠 Phrase to remember

“I choose friendships that bring me closer to God.”

🙏 Closing prayer

Lord Jesus,

thank you for the friends you have placed in my life.

Help me to choose well whom I spend time with and to be a good example to others.

Teach me to surround myself with people who encourage me to live as you want.

And when I have doubts, give me wisdom to decide.

Amen.
