Read answerHave you ever felt that just after experiencing a great victory, new difficulties begin to appear? Maybe God answered a prayer, you overcame a problem, or you received a blessing you had eagerly awaited. But when you thought everything would be easier, fear, fatigue, and new worries arrived.
Sometimes we ask ourselves:Lord, if you just helped me, why am I going through this now?.
The Bible teaches us that difficulties do not always mean that God has abandoned us. Some difficult experiences can also help us grow in our faith and learn to depend more on Him.
The people of Israel experienced one of the most extraordinary miracles in the Bible.
After many years of slavery in Egypt, God freed them. When they seemed trapped before the Red Sea and the Egyptian army was approaching, God made a way through the waters so they could cross (Exodus 14).
What a wonderful victory!
However, after that liberation, the Israelites had to cross the desert.
There they faced hunger, thirst, fear, and uncertainty. They did not always understand where God was leading them or how their needs would be met.
But there was something they needed to learn:the same God who had freed them from Egypt continued to guide them in the desert.
Long after, Moses reminded the people of what they had experienced during those forty years.
The Bible says:
And you shall remember all the way which the LORD your God has led you.
Deuteronomy 8:2 (RVR1960)
The Israelites had to learn that their security did not depend solely on what they could see or possess, but on trusting God and listening to His Word.
The desert was a place of difficulties, but also of learning.
God had not stopped accompanying His people after parting the Red Sea.
Not necessarily.
In our lives, we can also go through moments that seem like a desert: family problems, difficulties at school, illnesses, worries, or situations we do not understand.
It is important to remember that not all trials have the same cause and that we should not think that every difficulty is a punishment from God.
Israel's experience reminds us that we can seek the Lord even when circumstances are difficult.
Faith does not mean living without problems, but learning to trust God even in the midst of them.
Although we do not always understand what is happening, we can approach Him with our questions, fears, and concerns.
When new difficulties arise, remember those moments when you experienced His care.
Israel had to remember how God had delivered them from Egypt. We too can look back with gratitude and recognize His faithfulness.
You don't need to hide your emotions before God.
If you are sad, worried, or tired, you can speak to Him sincerely. Prayer is a way to draw near to His presence and find strength to carry on.
We won't always know the outcome of a situation or how long we will have to go through it.
But we can keep walking in faith, seeking God's wisdom and also accepting the support of those who love us.
Trusting God doesn't mean doing nothing, but moving forward with patience, hope, and obedience.
Children also experience their own deserts.
Maybe an exam seems too difficult, they feel afraid of a change, or they are sad because something didn't turn out as expected.
Parents can use those moments to teach them that difficulties are part of life and that they don't have to face them alone.
As a family, we can pray together, listen to each other, encourage one another, and remember God's promises.
The story of the people of Israel invites us to understand thata victory can fill us with joy, while a difficult process can teach us patience, perseverance, and trust..
Victory frees you, but the process shapes you.
Just as God accompanied Israel on their journey through the desert, we can trust in His faithfulness as we go through our own difficulties.
We don't know how long each trial will last or how it will be resolved, but we can keep drawing near to God at every stage of our lives.
Beloved Jesus:
Thank you for every victory and for all the times you have shown us your love.
Today we want to bring before you our worries, fears, and difficulties.
When we are tired, give us new strength. When we are afraid, help us to trust. And when we do not understand what is happening, teach us to stay close to you.
Help us to remember your faithfulness and to grow in patience, obedience, and love during every stage of our lives.
Take care of our family and guide us with your Word.
In your name, Jesus. Amen.
Why do you think the Israelites had difficulties after crossing the Red Sea?
What difficult situation have you experienced and what did you learn during that experience?
How can we help each other and trust God more when our family is going through a difficult time?
Perhaps today you are going through a difficult time and still do not understand why.
Remember that a trial does not necessarily mean that God has abandoned you.
The God who accompanied Israel in the desert invites us to trust Him also in our moments of uncertainty.
💬 If today you are going through a desert and believe that God is still with you, write in the comments:
God is with me in the process.
