Jesus invites us to receive a renewed life, trust in God, and walk with Him every day, learning to obey, forgive, love, and return to His presence with confidence.

There are moments when our heart feels tired. Maybe we continue doing our daily activities, but little by little we stop talking to God, get distracted by other things, or allow worries to take up too much space inside us.
It can also happen that we are afraid, make mistakes, or feel that we have drifted away from Jesus. Then we might ask ourselves:“Can I come close to God again?”
The answer fills us with hope:yes. Jesus does not call us to reject us nor does He ask us to fix everything on our own first. He invites us to come close, open our hearts, and allow His love to transform the way we live.
Jesus does not want to change just a small part
Jesus taught something very profound when He spoke about the new patch and the new wineskins.
InLuke 5:36-38, Jesus explained that no one takes a piece of a new garment to patch an old one, and that new wine must be put into new wineskins.
With these images, Jesus was showing that what He brings does not simply consist of placing a small patch on a life that continues the same.
Following Jesus means receiving from Him arenewed life.
It does not mean that suddenly we will never make mistakes again, feel fear, or have difficult days. It also does not mean that we must behave perfectly to make God love us.
God loves us and, because He loves us, He wants to transform our hearts.
Little by little we learn to trust Him, obey Him, forgive others, love as Jesus loves, and walk with Him every day.
A renewed life begins in the heart.
Sometimes we want to change only what others can see.
We might try to speak better, behave better, or do more good things. But Jesus wants to go much deeper.
He looks at our heart.
A renewed life begins when we can say:
“Jesus, I need You to be the one who guides my life.”
When we walk with Him, we begin to learn a new way to respond to the situations we face.
When we are afraid, we learn to trust.
When someone hurts us, we learn to forgive.
When we must make a decision, we seek God's guidance.
When we see someone in need, we learn to love.
And when we fail, instead of hiding from God, we can return to Him, acknowledge our mistake, and receive His forgiveness.
How do I know if my heart is drifting away from God?
Drifting away from God does not always happen suddenly. Sometimes it happens little by little.
One sign can be thatwe stop prayingbecause we think we don't have time or because we believe God does not listen to us.
It can also happen whenwe stop listening to His Wordand allow many other voices to be more important than what God wants to teach us.
Another sign appears whenfear begins to rule more than faith. We worry so much about what might happen that we forget that God continues with us.
We can even begin toseek our security in things that cannot save us: money, popularity, people, successes, or anything we try to make the center of our life.
None of this means that Jesus has stopped loving us.
It means that our heart needs to turn back to Him.
How can we return to Jesus?
Talk to Jesus
You don't need complicated words. You can tell Him exactly how you feel.
You can say:
“Jesus, I feel like I have drifted away. I need your help.”
He knows your heart.
Ask for forgiveness
When we know we have done something wrong, we can acknowledge it before God.
Asking for forgiveness does not mean living thinking that God is angry with us. It means trusting in His mercy and allowing Him to teach us a different way.
Open your heart
Maybe there are wounds, fears, or worries that you have been holding onto for a long time.
Jesus wants you to be able to approach Him with sincerity.
You don't have to hide.
Trust in His love
Our return to God does not depend on being good enough.
Start by trusting thatJesus loves us, calls us, and wants to walk with us.
Each new day is an opportunity to draw closer to Him.
A different life is built by walking with Jesus every day
Following Jesus is not just making a decision once.
It is learning to walk with Him every day.
We can talk to Jesus when we wake up, remember a teaching from the Bible during the day, ask for His help when we are afraid, and thank Him before going to sleep.
These are small moments that help our hearts stay close to God.
And when we make mistakes again, we don't have to think that all is lost.
We can return to Jesus once more.
His grace continues to call us.
Phrase to remember
Jesus doesn't just want to fix one part of your life; He wants to walk with you and renew your heart every day.
Final prayer
Jesus, today I want to come close to You.
Forgive me for the times I have drifted away, stopped seeking You, or allowed fear to be greater than my trust in You.
I open my heart and ask You to teach me to live differently.
Help me to trust God, obey Your Word, forgive, love others, and walk with You every day.
Thank You because I don't have to earn Your love. Thank You because You love me and I can return to You.
Renew my heart and help me follow You.
Amen.
