God can start something new in your heart
Have you ever felt that your heart is far from God? Maybe you used to pray often, listen to His Word, and trust in Him, but little by little worries, tiredness, or fear began to take that place.
Sometimes we try to change by our own strength, but we still feel that something is missing. Jesus teaches us that true transformation begins from within, when we open our heart and allow God to work in us.
And although difficulties do not disappear immediately, with Jesus we can always take a new step of faith.
When Jesus transforms our heart
When we let Jesus transform our life, beautiful things begin to grow: love, generosity, forgiveness, obedience, and compassion.
Not because we try to pretend to be better people, but because God is working inside us.
In Mark 2:21-22, Jesus uses the teaching of the new patch and the wineskins to talk about the new. This image also invites us to reflect:following Jesus is not just about changing some outward habits, but about allowing Him to transform our heart.
That change can be gradual. We learn to forgive, to trust when we are afraid, and to love even when it is difficult.
How to know if we need to draw closer to God?
In our daily life we can recognize some signs that invite us to strengthen our relationship with Jesus:
We stop praying and talking with God.
We no longer spend time listening to or reading His Word.
We allow fear to guide our decisions more than our trust in Him.
We seek security only in material or fleeting things.
Feeling fear, tiredness, or worry does not mean that God has abandoned us. These are moments when we can also seek His help.
How can we return to Jesus?
We don't need perfect words. We can start with simple steps:
Talk to Jesus:sincerely tell Him how we feel.
Ask for forgiveness:acknowledge our mistakes and desire to change.
Open our heart:allow His Word to guide our decisions.
Trust in His love:remember that we can draw near to Him even on our difficult days.
Jesus invites us to live close to Him, learning every day to love, forgive, and trust.
Phrase to remember
“No matter how far your heart feels; when you return to Jesus, you find love, forgiveness, and hope.”
Prayer to return to God
Lord Jesus, forgive me for the times I have turned away from You and allowed fear or worries to occupy my heart.
Today I want to draw near to You again. Help me to listen to You, trust in Your love, and learn to live according to Your Word.
Transform my heart to love more, forgive, and do good, even when things are difficult.
Amen.
