How to identify a good friend?

Publication date: March 12, 2026

There are friends who lead to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

🟡 What does this mean?

The Bible reminds us that not all friends are true. Some may lead us away from what is good or hurt us, but there is also a Friend who never fails, who is always with us and loves us more than a brother. That Friend is Jesus.

🧠 Let's think for a moment

Have you ever had a friend who left you alone or let you down? That hurts a lot. But Jesus never abandons, never lies, and always listens to us. He wants to be your best friend and accompany you every day, in good times and in difficult times.

🙌 What can we do today?

Thank God for the good friends He has given us.

Ask Jesus to help us choose friends who draw us closer to Him.

Decide to also be a good friend to others: sincere, loyal, and loving.

Remember that, although everyone fails, Jesus is always by your side.

💬 Phrase to remember

👉 “Jesus is the friend who never leaves me.”

🙏 Final prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You because You are my best friend. Help me to be a good friend to others and to surround myself with people who bring me closer to You. May I never forget that in You I always have companionship, comfort, and love. Amen.
