Jesus reminds us that death is not the end and that, in Him, we have hope of resurrection, eternal life, and a future reunion with those we love.
Read answerThere are times when everything seems too difficult. We look around and don't know what to do. Maybe we are afraid, worried about something happening at home, at school, or in our family, and we feel thatwe can't find a way out.
Children can feel this too. Sometimes they don't know how to explain exactly what is happening inside them, but they may wonder:“What is going to happen now?”,“Is God with me?”or even:“Jesus, can you open a way for me?”
The story of Exodus 14 reminds us of something important: when we don't know what to do, we can turn our eyes to God. He remains worthy of our trust even when we still cannot see the way.
The people of Israel were living through a terrifying moment.
They had left Egypt and were standing before the sea. Behind them, the Pharaoh's army was approaching.
Humanly speaking, the situation seemed impossible.
In front was the sea.
Behind came the danger.
And the people were afraid.
But God had not abandoned His people.
Moses said to them:
“The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”Exodus 14:14, RVR1960
Those words invited them to remember who was with them. Their security did not depend solely on what they could see, but on the God who had guided them to that place.
God did something they could not do by themselves: He parted the sea and prepared a way for them to move forward.
However, the story does not end simply with the people waiting.
Right after, in Exodus 14:15, God said to Moses:
“Why do you cry to me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward.”
God was going to act, but the people also had totake the next step.
This part of the story teaches us something very important for our lives: trusting in God does not mean remaining still, waiting for all our problems to disappear.
There are times to pray and wait, but there are also times to obey, act wisely, and keep walking.
We can trust God while studying for an exam that worries us.
We can trust while seeking help when something overwhelms us.
We can trust while talking to our parents, teachers, or trusted people.
We can trust while taking small steps, even if we still don't know how everything will end.
Yes, we can ask Jesus to guide us when we don't know what to do.
That doesn't mean every problem will disappear immediately or that all situations will end exactly as we expect.
It means thatwe don't have to face our fears alone.
When you are afraid, you can talk to Jesus.
When you cry, you can draw near to Him.
When you don't know what decision to make, you can ask Him for wisdom.
When you are tired, you can ask Him for strength to continue.
And when the path is still unclear, you can remember that God is still God even if you can't see the answer yet.
Sometimes He changes a situation.
Other times He shows us what decision we should make.
He can also use our parents, relatives, teachers, church leaders, or trusted people to help us.
Our hope is not in thinking that we will never have difficulties. Our hope is in knowingwho walks with us through them.
Tell God what you feel.
You don't need to use complicated words. You can say:
Lord, I am afraid.
I don't know what to do.
Help me.
Show me what the next step is.
God knows your heart.
Remember how God has been faithful in the stories of the Bible and also in other moments of your life.
Even if you don't have all the answers yet, you can keep trusting in His love, His wisdom, and His care.
Exodus 14:15 reminds us that there was a time when God told the people to march.
Maybe your next step is to study.
Ask for forgiveness.
Talk to someone.
Try again.
Wait patiently.
Look for a solution.
Or simply do today what you know is right.
You don't need to know the whole path to take the next step.
God often helps us through other people.
If something worries you, scares you, or seems too difficult, you don't have to keep it a secret.
Talk to your parents, a responsible relative, a teacher, or a trusted adult.
Asking for help can also be an act of courage and wisdom.
Maybe the answer won't come as quickly as you'd like.
Maybe you'll have to wait.
But while you wait, keep praying, learning, seeking help, and taking the steps you can take.
Faith doesn't always mean knowing exactly what will happen.
Sometimes it means saying:
“God, I still don't see the way, but I will keep trusting you.”
Even if I don't see the way, I can trust God and keep taking the next step.
Lord Jesus:
Sometimes I am afraid and don't know what to do.
There are times when problems seem too big and I can't see a way out.
Help me to trust in you.
Give me wisdom to know what to do, strength to keep going, and humility to ask for help when I need it.
Teach me to pray, to trust, and to take the next step each day.
Thank you because I can come to you in both easy and difficult moments.
Amen.
