📍 Genesis 11:1–9
CLASS OBJECTIVE
For the children to understand:
That pride can distance us from God.
That we should not seek our own glory.
That God wants us to depend on Him.
That unity must have the right purpose.
1️⃣ INTRODUCTION
Question to start:
👉 Have you ever wanted to do something just so everyone admires you?
Let them participate.
Connect with the topic:
“Today we will see how a group of people wanted to become famous without thinking about God.”
2️⃣ BIBLE STORY
📖 Read Genesis 11:1–9
Explain simply:
At that time, everyone spoke the same language.
People decided to build a city and a very tall tower.
They wanted their name to be famous.
They did not want to depend on God.
God saw what they were doing.
He confused their languages.
They could no longer understand each other.
They scattered across the whole earth.
Key teaching:The problem was not building... it was the pride of the heart.
3️⃣ REFLECTION QUESTIONS
Why did they want to build the tower?
Did they think about God?
What did God do?
What do we learn about pride?
4️⃣ PRACTICAL APPLICATION
Explain:
God is not against us achieving things. But He is against pride.
Everyday examples:
Wanting to be the best just to show off.
Not thanking God for what we achieve.
Believing we don't need help.
Doing things so others admire us.
Key phrase:
💛 “Everything I do is for the glory of God.”
5️⃣ HOPE
Clarifies that:
God did not destroy people. He only stopped their pride.
At Pentecost (Acts 2), God reunited languages, but this time to spread the gospel.
God wants unity… but with Him at the center.
6️⃣ FINAL PRAYER
“Lord, cleanse me of pride. Teach me to depend on You. May everything I do be to give You glory. Amen.”
📝 PHRASE TO REMEMBER
“Pride distances me, humility draws me closer to God.”
MAIN MESSAGE
When we seek our own glory, we end up confused. But when we put God at the center, He guides us and blesses us.
